Art Parameters: All art must be framed and wired. Max 2D size is 36”, 3D size is to be preapproved if over 2’ tall by 1’ wide. We will accept all art that meets the guidelines. Space is limited so art is accepted on a first come, first shown. Organized by the Brookfield Institute, the theme of the show is “Perspectives on Military Service.” Art pieces could include expressions of any form of military service, artistic reflections about combat, women in the military or the experience of the transition home. The exhibition will run Nov. 1-30 at Art Works Gallery.
The purpose of the exhibit is twofold: to provide a space for veterans to create art to express and process their experiences and also to give the public a better understanding of military experience.
An artists reception is scheduled for 5-7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, at the gallery.
There will be a People’s Choice Award given out at the gallery, Friday, Nov. 28. Categories are Best in Show and Greatest Impact.
After the show ends, artwork should be picked up at the gallery Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 29 and 30. Remaining art will be stored at the gallery for three days, then moved offsite.
